SATURDAY 10:30 AM CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

(1) **CLASS IS FULL** PSOAS: MUSCLE OF THE SOUL with JUSTINN OVERTON

A physical class that draws from Ashtanga Yoga Primary & Intermediate Series to build heat and explore your physical body, subtle body, and emotional responses to your psoas. The class will incorporate and utilize props to find greater depth in restorative poses and anatomy to better understand how to functionally move throughout your practice. Justinn will provide methods to open your hips externally and internally, focus on the role of the side body and thoracic spine, help to support and release your psoas, and allow your heart to open and overcome fear so that you may settle deeper into yourself and the practice. These essential methods will support you in your daily practice.

(2) EMBODY THE GODDESS with MARIA BRITO

Women have been suppressing the divine feminine within for far too long and it is time to tap in to the soul and get fully in touch with the Shakti within. Maria’s class is a fierce power vinyasa flow filled with positive affirmations and infused with Kundalini breath work . She will also guide us through some writing exercises to discover the magic in the treasure chest of our spiritual feminine energy. We will finish with a guided meditation focusing on gratitude and empowerment to the sounds of a crystal bowl and aromatherapy infused towels.

(3) **CLASS IS FULL** SPIRAL OF LIFE with JANE MAYER

In this co-creative ceremony-style workshop, we will explore the Spiral of Life, often called The Medicine Wheel in indigenous cultures in the Americas. Through our time together, we will integrate the spiral of Life Force Energy, its elements, animals and plants allies through exploring the cycles of our own human lives— our joys, griefs, expansions, contracts, births and deaths. As we co-create an altar of the spiral, we will remember how to work with the natural rhythms of life on Planet Earth and our own consciousness, so that we live in harmony with these phases, ourselves and one another. This workshop combines direct teaching, community sharing, and co-creative construction of a medicine wheel. You will leave in remembrance of the rhythm of life and how to use these tools to guide yourself in times of change.

SATURDAY 1:30 PM CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

(1) **CLASS IS FULL** FINDING CENTER with PENNIE NICHOLS

In a world that has become increasingly polarized, it can be challenging to remain centered. However, moving through the world purposely, authentically, fearlessly, requires this of us. Using traditional Himalayan yogic techniques, we will learn to navigate the chaotic waters of life by anchoring our center. We will connect to our bodies and mind through the power of our breath by integrating dynamic practices such as kriya, kundalini, purposeful movement and pranayama. We will end class in deep meditation. This practice is open and available to all bodies.

(2) LETTING GO: WEIGHTED YIN YOGA with SANDRA AGRICOLA

This class will explore some traditional restorative and yin postures with sandbags and blocks. Holding the posture for 3 minutes on each side, and letting go of striving and pushing, the class will encourage type-A

personalities to back off and notice how going 70 Percent in instead of 110 percent in allows a deeper feeling of calm and well being to emerge in body and mind. For the profoundly stressed, this is not easy. A gentle, slow approach challenges long-help conceptions of doing and pushing as opposed to being and surrendering. The addition of weights allows the body to ground and soften with little or no muscular effort. After using weights for the first 40 minutes, the class will end with legs up the wall with 4 delicious yin poses against the wall. Finally a sandbag is placed on the belly for a brief period during shavasana. As the instructor removes it, students feel totally relaxed and almost weightless. A brief final discussion about making their own sandbags will take place after Shavasana.

**THIS CLASS IS 2.5 HOURS, FULL AFTERNOON IMMERSION. BY SELECTING THIS OPTION, YOU WILL ONLY TAKE ONE AFTERNOON CLASS **

In this experiential workshop, we will learn the purpose and function of the autonomic nervous system, tracking our body’s responses to both stress and joy. We will practice listening to the language of our bodies, which can help alleviate shame and create greater self-compassion for our animal-based responses to a world full of perceived threats. By orienting to safety and calm, our bodies will thereby have greater capacity for both the stressors and the profound joys of life. This workshop will be a blend of presentation, movement, discussion, and take-home activities for your own daily practice.

SUNDAY 10:30 AM CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

(1) RHYTHM & FLOW with LAUREN VOGEL & JOHN SCALICI

Rhythm is all around us. The cycles of nature—the rising of the sun, the crashing of waves, the phases of the moon, the coming and going of seasons. Rhythm is within us. The cycles of rising and resting, the steady beating of our hearts, the in and out of our breath. For the most part, we live our lives oblivious to all of the rhythms around us and within us. When we are in sync with the rhythms of life, moving with the flow, we feel peaceful and calm but when we are out of sync, swimming against the flow, we feel stressed and anxious. The demands of modern life separate us from the rhythms of nature we are designed to flow with. This 75-minute class features easy-to-follow movements set to live drumming. Lose yourself in the flow of music and movement to connect to your perfect rhythm. The syncopation of breath, movement and music will plug you into the Universal energy that connects all things—helping you feel more awake, more alive and more in tune with your true Self.

(2) **CLASS IS FULL** YOGA ON THE WALL with BECCA IMPELLO

Spinal Rejuvenation on The Yoga Wall (two 35 min sessions of 10 people each) Want to feel refreshed, energized, more flexible, and younger? Experience suspended spinal traction on the yoga wall and release tension in the muscles that surround the spine, while simultaneously reversing the ravages of gravity. Try twists, side bends, forward and backward bends while inverted and leave with more space, length and freedom in your spine. We will spend most of the class upside down, thus this class is contraindicated for those with high blood pressure, glaucoma or other retinal eye issues.

(3) **CLASS IS FULL** EMBODY YOUR DIVINITY with SHERI BAGWELL

We will talk about reconciling our humanity with our divinity and physically embody more of our divine nature. Embodiment is when we bring our higher self into the physical tissues of our body. This brings the intuitive center from the third eye, where the fear programming in the mind can get in the way, to the center of the body so we can act on our intuition with ease. As we embody our higher self, our body will physically take us where we need to go, we will be able to say the words we have been hesitant to say. And we will be able to do all this with much more confidence than ever before. This will be a lying energy and meditation class different than most of them have experienced before. We will talk about heart and mind coherence and do some exercises to help them establish this more every day. They will get to experience energy viscerally and use the experience to feel their way though life to bring them more joy and fulfillment.

(2) FIERCE GRACE with WHITNEY ZIMMERMAN

This class is inspired by the teachings of Ram Dass. Fierce grace are those gemstones - the gifts we take on through suffering. It’s the growth from the uninvited grief. It’s a leveling up that isn’t attainable without walking through fire. How can we approach obstacles with the assurance that moving through the experience will, in the end, be of service to ourself and others?

This class invites deep pranayama and gentle movement to embody moving through something without pause, without avoidance. We will also embrace healing through sound using the harmonium and chanting meditation.

SUNDAY 3:15 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

(1) **CLASS IS FULL ** DANCE FOR YOGIS with WHITNEY RENFROE

This is such a fun class that I've taught pop up style at Forma a few times, and I would so enjoy getting to introduce it to more people. "Dance for Yogis" is a dance class yes, but it is targeted at yogis!! I take postures that we are familiar with on the mat and explore stringing them together with others. By the end of the 75 minutes, participants will have weaved together a choreographed dance. There are no mats, no alignment cues, no counted breaths....but I promise it delivers a full on "yogic experience." It is open to all levels. Modifications will be offered along the way.

(2) SOUL REVIVAL: TEA CEREMONY with CAMERON STROUSS

This interactive tea blending and tea ceremony class focuses on using the sense of smell as a way to tune into our bodies by creating small micro-ceremonies in our daily life. This class will help you create teas that suit your body's needs as they change through the day, the seasons, and the years. Using tea as a way to tune in and listen, we can create a space for micro-ceremony that can keep our souls nourished and grounded as modern humans in a whirling world.
